Day 19

Initially, my plan was to visit Staithes after my stay in London. But upon closer examination, I realized that 5 days in Staithes was difficult to fill. But I still wanted to see this village, so this morning we took a bus and we went there.  It's just as magnificent as I imagined.  On the way, we saw beautiful landscapes and especially de long and so nice Sandend Beach.

At Staithes we had lunch at Dotty Vintage Tearoom.  I had contacted the owner beforehand to be sure I could have lunch there. And at a +, we had been serve in french.

Staithes is a very small fishing village, with a very nice beach.  The main catches there are crab and lobster. Marcel stopped to talk with a fisherman who was just getting ready for lobster fishing. When they say the world is small... This man was in Charlevoix, last month, to visit his daughter who teach skiing at The Massif.  And again we had to climb very steep roads at times. Some with handrails to hold onto on the descents. Because if you go up, you go down just as much, obviously.

We came back in the middle afternoon to do a little bit of shopping and rest until 17h as we had à Messenger rendez-vous with our Zoey and Mila.

To round off our visit to Whitby, we went to eat an excellent Sunday Roast at the chic Royal Hotel of Whitby. Yes, another Sunday Roast, but it's Sunday and it's tradition.  And frankly, it was the best so far. And something that doesnT happen so often, we had dessert.  We couldn't resist to the Sticky Toffee pudding.

Tomorrow we will leave for York. Talk to you from there.
