Day 17

Carole leave early this morning : around 7h15.She was sad but she told me it was is better vacations of her life.  It is true that we had a good time.

Marcel and me we went to St-Albans.  We choose to go there on a wednesday because it is market day. St-Albans is a north suburb of London.  We been there with the Thamelink.  It is a modern and comfortable suburb train.  It took 35 minutes from St-Pancras.

As soon as we arrived, we went to the market.  It is a mix market: food, clothes and various objects of all kind. It is very lively.  There is there for every taste.

In addition to visiting the market, there is a magnificient cathedral that started to be build in 1077.  The construction was finish in 1893. It is situated in the middle of a cemetary.  There is also some graves inside.

There is also a clock tower.  This is the only known example of a free-standing medieval town belfry in England.

It was finally a nice place to visit.

We came back in the mid afternoon as usual and we took the time to do some laundry.  Even in London, we have to do some basic homework.

Tonight, for our last night in London,  we enjoyed a good meal at The Orange Pub. We walked back about 30 minutes.

Albert Bridge look splendid under pink and blue skies.  I refrained from photographing it again.

A beautiful day of 20426 steps.
