jour 15

This morning, Denis called out of order:  he have blisters on his foot and couldn't follow us for our itinerary of the day.
First thing we did was to visit Mark and Spencer. We choose a store in the city as it is the area we will visit today.  We then visit The Postman Park. It is a memorial to heroic self sacrifice.  It is a very peaceful place.  It is near the Museum of London.  We followed our way to St-Paul Cathedral.  What a magnificent piece of art and history!  We didn't visit St-Paul, but we went chez Paul for a coffee break.  We crossed the Millennium bridge and went to Tate Modern.  At first we had a very good lunch in the chic restaurant on the 6th floor.  The view is spectacular.  We can see St-Paul Cathedral, the Thames river and the beautiful bridge.  Our lunch was delicious!!!  We enjoyed every bite.  Miam!
We visited three rooms and we were delighted by all the exhibitions.

When we step out we walked on the river to Borough Market.  On our way we saw Shakespeare the Globe.  Before entering the market, we stopped at the Bus Company ( a souvenirs shop) to buy some gifts and souvenirs.
At the market, it was crowdy.  We searched a time before finding the sausages store.  It called Ginger Pig, a very funny name isn't it?
So tonight we had a good supper with our sausages.

Anecdote:  The owners of our house came to replace the toaster.  We asked them about the better way to reserve a taxi for Carole Saturday morning.  They didn't hesitated long before offering to drive her to the train station.  They didn't want to be paid for.  What a nice gesture!  Very British!
